Plans for a windfarm consisting of 3 large turbines at Pentre Tump near New Radnor have been rejected by Powys County Council Planning Committee. The plans were rejected as the council said it would have an
unacceptable adverse impact on the public rights of way network" and a "visual impact" on the surrounding area and landscape.

Police have hailed a crackdown on illegal off-roading a success after a number of vehicles were stopped in Powys.
Officers checked 23 vehicles on a route popular with motorcyclists and 4×4 drivers in the Elan Valley, near Rhayader.
Two fixed penalty notices were issued for driving using a mobile phone and for no registration plate.
A warning was issued after officers seized a small amount of cannabis.
