The Four Well Ramblers are based in Mid Wales in the area bounded by the Powys Spa towns of Llandrindod, Builth, Llanwrtyd and Llangamarch Wells. We walk alternate Saturdays in areas of outstanding natural beauty including: the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Radnor Forest and the Elan Valley.
New walkers and visitors are always welcome.

Group Activities
The Four Wells Group of the Ramblers’ Association has around 120 members. Many people join to support the work of the RA rather than to walk with a group.
We survey footpaths, report on obstructions, work to maintain access
We also provide walks led by volunteer leaders.
Monday – these walks are normally about 4 miles and are at an easy pace, they are generally for people new to walking, or those wanting a shorter walk.
Saturday – usually a day walk, between 8 and 12 miles, the walks vary from moderate to quite strenuous.
Grading of Walks
- Easy: taking it an easy pace; for any level of walker
- Moderate: some ascent involved; steady pace
- Energetic: some steep ascents; reasonable level of fitness required
- Strenuous: several steep ascents; good level of fitness required
General Information for people walking with our group
Dogs are not allowed on group walks.
Members of the public are welcome to join us for a few walks before joining the Ramblers’ Association. Any queries about the walks, please address to the leader, or the Programme Secretary
Neither the group nor the walk leader can accept responsibility for any loss or injury by persons taking part in our walks.
Walk details are printed in the Walk Programme …occasionally the programme walks are subject to change. Walk leaders are requested to give two weeks notice of any changes when ever possible. Late changes will be announced on our website where possible.
Packed lunches and suitable drinks are required for all walks, unless otherwise noted in the walks programme.
Passengers accepting lifts are asked to share petrol costs, and should ensure they have a change of footwear.
In the event of a forecast of extreme weather conditions, or a fuel crisis situation or similar, the leader must be contacted prior to the walk.
For walks that start more than 10/20 miles away it is wise to contact the leader to confirm your attendance.
Please notify the Powys Area Footpath Secretary, of any obstructions. You can report the problem via the web.
