A Walk from Builth Wells to Garth Hill

A small but select group of ramblers enjoyed a 7 mile walk from the Groe in Builth Wells.  We started off walking by the River Irfon, before heading up to the trig point on Garth Hill.  Had the weather been more clement we would have had a wonderful view down to the River Wye. It was a good place for lunch nonetheless.  Leaving the trig point we decided to hack our way down the hill as it was open access land and we could get onto a track at the bottom.  By doing this we had a pleasant route back to Builth Wells along the River Wye.  The sun even came out after a very unpromising start.  We were all very pleased we had decided to ignore the ominous weather forecast.
