A Walk from Bwlch Nant yr Arian

On 7th April 2018, 5 of us set out on a very wet day to undertake a figure of eight walk from the visitor centre at Nant yr Arian.  We had hoped that the offer of a 3-4 mile short walk to start with might encourage some new walkers to join us.  However, the weather was so unpromising, it was amazing that 5 of us turned up at all!

The first part of the walk was very wet but not bad going under foot, as the paths are well maintained at Nant yr Arian.  The plan had been to have a leisurely lunch near the visitor centre before setting off on the second loop.  However, as there were only we five stalwarts and we had arrived at the visitor centre before 12pm, we decided to continue for a while before having lunch.  Fortunately the weather improved slightly so that we had a reasonably dry lunch time.  Thereafter the cloud came down and we were in mist for the rest of the walk.  A great shame as there are superb views down to the coast on the first half and lovely views into the Rheidol valley on the second.

I am sure we all felt very virtuous for having turned out on such a miserable day.  Hoping for better weather on our next walk.
