A Walk in the Elan Valley – 12th August 2017

A lovely path near the reservoirOn Saturday 12th August we walked a figure of 8 from the Elan Valley village.  A day of drizzle and weak sunshine meant that waterproofs were on and off at regular intervals.  Despite this we enjoyed a lovely walk on paths familiar to us including the climb past the Dambusters’ Dam, and then on new routes on the hills around Y Glog Fawr. The heather was in full bloom and its perfume reminded me of honey. It was Sarah’s first walk as leader for the group and she acquitted herself well. We look forward to many more walks from her on future programmes.
